Spin Boldak Border Crossing Reopens For Returning Afghan Refugees

Friday, 10/17/2025

The Taliban-run media reported on Friday that the Spin Boldak border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been temporarily reopened to allow the return of Afghan refugees expelled from Pakistan.

All border crossings between the two countries were closed earlier this week following armed clashes between Taliban and Pakistani forces. Local reports said the situation in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province has since returned to normal.

Pakistan has not issued an official statement on the reopening. However, on Monday, authorities temporarily opened the same crossing to facilitate the repatriation of undocumented Afghan refugees.
