Pakistan Orders Afghan Refugees To Vacate Homes & Shops Within A Week

Thursday, 10/16/2025

Authorities in Quetta city have ordered residents to evict Afghan refugees from rented houses and shops within one week. They warned that legal action will be taken against undocumented migrants who fail to comply.

Local media reported on Thursday, October 16, citing Deputy Commissioner Mansoor Ahmad, that property owners have been given seven days to enforce the directive.

The order in the capital of Baluchistan province comes amid heightened tensions following cross-border clashes between Pakistani forces and Taliban fighters at the Spin Boldak crossing on Wednesday. Both sides have since announced a 48-hour ceasefire, though reports indicate increasing pressure on Afghan refugees across Pakistan during the truce.
